Dear Complexity Digest readers and friends:

For more than seven years Complexity Digest has appeared regularly and without interruption as a weekly newsletter to help networking the complexity community.

This summer in July we Complexity Digest could not appear due to a medical emergency. We were fortunate to have Marilyn Pitchford jump in and create pdf files of the annual editions of Complexity Digest that can be downloaded and are also available in print or on CD.

We find that this is an excellent opportunity to have a quick overview of the rapid development of the field of complexity in the first few years of the 21^st century and the changing and persistent areas of research, development and innovative applications.
